Energy Market & Trends
Solix Biofuels continues to develop technology that will increase the amount of renewable energy available for consumption.

At Solix, we believe the shift in trends within the energy industry point towards a need to seek out alternative sources of fuel and build technologies that make harnessing alternative energy possible.
The key trends we see occurring that will lead to a further increase in demand for biofuel as a source of energy include:
1) A desire to increase energy security by reducing our dependence on foreign oil.
2) Concerns about the impact of global warming and how it will effect the world’s environment and economy.
3) The rapid growth of the alternative energy sector including conversion technologies that allow for the production of fuels that compete directly with traditional diesel, gasoline and aviation fuels. Additionally, new technologies for producing biofuels are becoming cost competitive with petroleum-based fuel.
4) Increased government funding and incentives for alternative energy companies and end-users.
Despite concerns that a depressed economy would negatively impact government investments in clean energy, many political leaders are making clean energy a central tenet of their economic recovery efforts. Most notably, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 included more than $70 billion in direct spending and tax credits for clean-energy and transportation programs. This policy stimulus represents the largest federal commitment in U.S. history for renewables, advanced transportation and conservation initiatives.*
5) The possibility of reaching "peak production" of petroleum in the near future is a real concern. Petroleum is a finite resource, making it necessary to pursue alternative sources of energy.
